The heat exchanger, especially the wort pipe, should be sterilized with hot water higher than 80℃, and the circulation time should not be less than 30 minutes. Only when the water in the heat exchanger is completely discharged by the wort, the wort can be delivered to the yeast machine.
During the cooling process, the inlet and outlet of mash and cold water should be checked regularly and the temperature in these places should be controlled at the proper temperature ±0.5℃ by adjusting the flow rate through the valve. After the cooling is finished, the wort in the heat exchanger should be completely emptied with hot water.
The total cooling time consumption should preferably be less than 60 minutes, too long time may affect the quality of mash and the proportion of whirlpool currents used. We all know that cold sludge or hop resin will adhere to the heat exchange plate and affect the efficiency. You should soak the heat exchanger plate with 1-2% hot alkaline water first, remove the dirt with a brush, and then clean it with clean water.
4. The maximum working pressure of the heat interchanger is generally 1Mpa. there will be a pressure difference between the cooling water and the side of the wort. Generally, the nominal working pressure is 0.2-0.4Mpa. too high pressure difference will deform the plate and affect the performance of the gasket. Therefore, please pay attention to the pressure during use.
