Oysters, Aeroplane Jelly & Sponge Cake – Sounds Like A Fun Beer Event!

What do oysters, airplane jelly and sponge cake have in common? They’re all great ingredients for beer! At least the stout hops at Gold Coast Brewery think so and are willing to prove it this Saturday, May 25.
The Great Australasian Beer Festival (GABS) is an

annual festival (held in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney) where craft brewers from around Australia can showcase one-off creative beer recipes.

It’s one of the biggest events on the Australian beer calendar. But if you can’t make it to GABS, Stout Hops will be offering GABS festival beers from the past five years this weekend.

For the past five years, Black Hops has maintained a proud tradition of showcasing one of their best, limited, creative beer recipes at the GABS Beer Festival.

Some of these unique beers, like 2016’s Blitz Snack, a pale ale with the classic Australian snack flavor, were named in the top 10 of the People’s Choice Awards.

This year, dark hops created another very popular version for the festival, a hazy double American IPA mixed with coconut, mango and black barrel-capped Mountain Rum, called Caribbean Smoke. It proved to be a popular choice at the festival and was one of the few products that sold out.

But luckily, Black Hops is holding back some beers for their GABS revival, in addition to re-brewing and canning beers from the past 4 years. That means this weekend, Saturday, May 25, you can enjoy any beer at their Burleigh or Biggera Waters restaurants, or take some home.

Here are the details sounds and the full lineup of beers.
