After boiling, the spent grain needs to be drained out. For small furnaces up to 3000 liters and over 1000 liters we usually recommend the use of a “plow or sweeper” mounted on a rake. The sweeper is made of silicone and it can be lifted manually with a steel handle or a chain. During the filtration process, we lift it up so as not to interfere with the filter bed. After finishing the filtration, we put the sweeper down and start the filter motor. The sweeper then rotates with the motor rake, thus pushing out and sweeping away the waste grain.

For easier grain out, it is the bottom drain. Please see the pictures below. It is recommended for large volumes, such as 3500L or more.
