In my last blog, “What is PLC Control”, there was some description of the level of automation that can be achieved in a microbrewery with a PLC control panel. Here’s a little hint.
For microbreweries under 10,000L, we always recommend a PID controller as the first choice. Manual valves are actually even easier to operate than pneumatic valves, especially if there are any problems, and they show great flexibility in handling/fixing the job to solve urgent problems. The absence of PLC or pneumatic valves can save approximately $9,000.
