Differences between American and German brewing systems

Mainly refers to the Mash equipment. The basic functions that the Mash equipment needs to complete are Mash, Lauter, boiling, and Whirlpool.

The so-called difference is only the difference in craftsmanship and custom.

The equipment is divided into German beer equipment and American beer equipment.

The difference between German beer equipment and American beer equipment is mainly reflected in the combination of functions.

The Mash and boiling functions are combined into one pot, and the upper and lower chambers are separated by Lauter and spin sedimentation.

Form another pot, which is a German style, generally called “two-vessel three-chamber device”.

The main feature of this equipment is that the wort Lauter is natural Lauter, and the wort is pumped from the boiling pot into the cyclone sedimentation tank, and the swirling sedimentation effect is better.

The functions of Mash and Lauter are combined into a pot, and the functions of boiling and Whirlpool are combined into a pot, which is American style.

Generally referred to as “dual device”. The characteristic of this equipment is that the wort is filtered by pumping, and the Whirlpool is the Whirlpool of the wort in the boiling and Whirlpool pot.

The Whirlpool effect is average. In addition, the upper cavity of the typical single Mash equipment of German equipment is the integration of Lauter and spin-down functions, and the lower cavity is the integration of Mash, boiling and partial cooling functions.

You can choose the equipment style you like according to your beer brewing habits.
