Gold Coast Craft Brewery Stout Announces Second Round of Equity Crowdfunding Campaign to Launch on January 25
Since we started, we have always had a very active limited beer program. We average about 1 new beer release per week in our restaurants, but starting in 2019, we started releasing regularly to bars and bottle stores. for 2019 and 2020, we are releasing once a month, see the following summary article.
To close out the year, we wanted to introduce a different kind of beer than a hazy or non-hazy standard IPA, so we launched a brand new beer, a red IPA called Galley Burn. deciding on a limited release was pretty tricky because making a new beer takes a lot of work, and if it’s not a hazy IPA,
it’s always a little difficult to sell. But we wanted to launch the new product in November, and it was very popular.
Our last limited release of the year was the new Lupomax hops, creating a rolling hop aroma. The sweetness of kola,
caramel and toffee maltose is the perfect accompaniment to the citrus and pine hops that this red IPA combines with a persuasive; but not aggressive, but bitter. That’s right, Iceman, I’m dangerous.
Following the challenges of 2020, the past 12 months have been a month of further consolidation and growth for the black hop world. We are proud to say that we remain founder-owned and independent, with no institutional investors or venture capital input.
On the brewing side, we brewed 104 different beers in 2021, made up of 76 new beers and 28 brews. That’s the equivalent of 2 new beers per week!
All in all, we brewed 2.2 million liters of beer in 2021, which is more than the 1.6 million liters of beer we brewed in 2020. To keep pace, we more than doubled our staff from 39 to 81 (50 full time employees) dark hopped employees.
With all this beer, our growth continues to trend upwards (we were ranked 24th on the Australian Financial Review’s annual list of the 100 fastest growing companies), with annual turnover rising from $10.4 million to $15.2 million.
Our sincere thanks to our clients, investors and friends for their support! Here is a breakdown of our 2021 highlight reel.
