Usually some customers ask whether we should take some special measures for the tank if the fermenter is suitable to be placed outside and the temperature may be below -10℃ in winter.
Our answer is that it is OK to ferment outdoors. In most cases, brewers will place their fermenters inside premises with a brewhouse for ease of operation. However, there are still many breweries that install their fermenters outdoors due to ceiling height restrictions. So why is it suitable to be placed outdoors?
1) Based on our standard configuration, we use SUS304 for the internal housing (3mm) and external housing (2mm) and along with the spare parts are SUS304, such as safety valve, butterfly valve, etc.. Therefore, it will not be affected by weather or rain, etc.
2) In addition, we will make 80mm insulation (polyurethane) for the fermenter, it will have a good insulation effect and everything will be fine.
If the temperature is very low, what should we do to meet the demand?
Then we think it is OK to configure heating methods for the tanks. So, when the relief valve or other freezes, we can heat it.
We are glad to hear your opinion.
